At Lost Sheep Salon we offer two extension methods — both hand-installed, both designed to protect your natural hair, and both built around the same belief: extensions should be invisible, comfortable, and yours.
Invisible Bead Extensions (IBE) are hand-tied wefts placed on a foundation row. They’re fast to install and unbeatable for volume on medium-to-thick hair. Keratin Tip Extensions (Pearl Bonding) place density strand by strand — slower, more bespoke, and ideal for placing length and fullness exactly where you want it.
We’ll help you choose at your consultation. Most clients already have a sense, but we’ll talk through your hair, your routine, and your goal before quoting anything.

Which extension method is best for me?+
It depends on your hair, your goal, and your lifestyle. Invisible Bead Extensions (hand-tied wefts) are ideal when you want volume and length built on a row — fast install, great for thick or medium hair. Keratin Tip Extensions place density strand by strand, which is better for fine areas, the part, or anywhere you want a precise blend. The best answer comes from a consultation.
How much do hair extensions cost in Pittsburgh?+
IBE install labor at Lost Sheep is $200 for one row and $400 for two rows. Keratin install is hourly — $55/hr Lamb, $85/hr Shepherd, $110/hr Head Shepherd — typically 4–6 hours. The hair itself is quoted separately at your consultation in both cases.
Will extensions damage my natural hair?+
Both methods we offer are designed to protect your natural hair when installed and maintained properly. No tape, no glue, no continuous tension. The most important factor is the stylist's training — we follow the certified method for each technique end-to-end.
How long does an extension install take?+
An IBE one-row install is about an hour; two rows is two hours. A keratin install is 4–6 hours, done in a single day.
